This video shows how to foam roll the quads. You have 4 quadricep muscles that affect the knee and hip joint so it’s essential that you keep these guys firing properly. Don’t forget to roll on the outside and inside of the leg to hit the Vastus lateralis and Vastus Medialis muscles.

One thing to be aware of is if you are doing a particular leg exercise like a squat, and you notice discomfort either around the knee or in one of your quadricep muscles, you likely have a knot that needs to be released. In that case, use the foam roller or massage stick to roll out the area where you feel the discomfort, it usually solves the issue!
